A passenger train that derailed in Philadelphia was traveling at more than 100 miles per hour before it crashed, US investigators said Wednesday, with reports suggesting that speed was more than twice the limit.
"Further calibrations are being conducted," the National Transportation Safety Board said on Twitter, adding that more information would be provided at a press conference set for 5:00 pm (2100 GMT).
