Turkish lira hits new record low against dollar

The Turkish lira on Thursday plunged to a new record low against the dollar as investors took fright at political uncertainty after the failure of coalition talks between the government and main opposition.
The lira fell 1.85 percent to trade at 2.8214 lira to the dollar, a new historic low after months of pressure on the markets.
