US unemployment rate steady in July, job growth slows

The US unemployment rate held steady at 5.3 percent in July, a seven-year low, while job growth slowed a bit, Labor Department data released Friday showed.
The US economy added 215,000 jobs last month, down from a revised 231,000 in June, the department said.
