Marc by Marc Jacobs A/W 2013 New York/London - Arabstoday Marc Jacobs' hotly anticipated runway show came mid-way though New York Fashion Week on a snowy  Tuesday. Crowds were expecting to be treated to Jacobs' collection, but due to the blizzards that have blighted NYFW this season, the brand improvised, pushing forward with the Marc by Marc Jacobs show in its’ place. And believe us, it was pretty seminal all the same. For this is the man who floats the fashion boat for men and women the world over with his commercially indestructible brand of safely-sexy, so right-now collections. This season is taking sartorial inspiration from the 1970's, so the show was all about soft-focus frizzy hair and self-conscious ‘kiss me’ lips juxtaposed with clunky, chunky accessories, mannish tailoring, and kooky retro plaid. The colours are suitably autumnal; burnt orange, Chateau Briot burgundy, plum purple. Adorably nostalgic yet instantly covetable in its wearability. Another instant hit from the unstoppable Marc.
