First solar power station inaugurated in Smart Village

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Khalid Negm and Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker opened on Sunday the first solar power station in the Smart Village.
This comes as part of the government's attempts to diversify the sources of energy to meet the community's growing needs of electricity.
A statement by the Communications and Information Technology Ministry said the new solar power station comes within the framework of an initiative to produce 4,300 megawatts of electricity through solar and wind energy as of the coming year.
