Abu Dhabi - WAM

Abu Dhabi Media Summit (ADMS) 2014, powered by twofour54, has announced the theme for this year’s event as ‘Driving and Sustaining Future Media in MENA and Beyond’. This year’s edition will take place at the Rosewood Hotel, Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi, from November 18th-20th.
This years theme highlights recent developments in the media industry. The summit will focus on the future of media and technology and discuss the impact it has had on different interactions between corporations, communities and government entities and their target groups. It will take advantage of global expertise and developments and explore ways to adapt to these changes in other regions.
Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman, Abu Dhabi Media Summit, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Media Zone Authority, said, "As part of Abu Dhabi’s evolving role as a dynamic regional commercial hub for the media and entertainment sectors, we look forward to welcoming industry leaders from around the world to the summit to engage in conversations at the forefront of the media business." This years theme represents a change in direction for summit and will cover topics such as content, its distribution and development funding and financing. The event will reflect the growth of Abu Dhabi and its development as a lucrative business hub for the U.A.E. and the Middle East and North Africa, according to Noura Al Kaabi, the Chief Executive Officer of twofour54.
Industry analysts say that the global media and entertainment industry was valued at $2.1 trillion, experiencing 5.5 percent annual growth, up to 2017. In the Middle East, the industries were set for growth of 10 percent and emerge as the sixth fastest growing market for the same period.
Centred on Abu Dhabi's emergence as a global media hub, the summit will feature a unique combination of high-profile sessions, closed-door discussions and private conversations, bringing together top-tier global media and entertainment players and their counterparts in fast-growing markets.
The exclusive summit, which has previously drawn some of the industry's biggest names, including Bill Gates, Tim Berners-Lee, Rupert Murdoch, James Cameron and Eric Schmidt, has grown to become one of the worlds most pre-eminent events for the media and entertainment sector.
