Dubai - WAM

Dherar Belhoul Al Falasi, the Director General of Watani Al Emarat Foundation, said that the Foundation has begun studying the results of volunteer work, which was part of its work plan, and began carrying the plan out during the Holy Month of Ramadan, in line with the "Year of Giving".
He also discussed focusing on preparing volunteer field work, which attracts the youth, in addition to establishing a culture that understands the connection of the progress and flourishing of any community that is based upon its members willingness to volunteer.
Al Falasi added, in a statement that the experiment of cooperation with schools so they might see their students benefit from their Ramadan volunteer work in "Iftar Tents", has proven the understanding and awareness that students have shown, and their grasp of the nation’s values of volunteering, pointing to the importance that people dedicate their volunteer efforts to help others for the benefit of the community and to raise the level of services for all.
He also pointed to the vitality and positive results of students participating in the Ramadan programmes through their strengthening the values of tolerance and solidarity, noting that volunteering is a national and community obligation, which all people should be given the opportunity to participate in.
Al Falasi further mentioned that the most importance factors in assuring the success of volunteer field work are assuring that students are aware of the message of the Foundation and its goals, as well as the importance that they perform the work in line with their capabilities and to complete the work assigned to them.
Regarding the Foundation’s joining of the Arab Federation for Voluntary Activities (AFVA), Al Falasi said that "Watani Al Emarat" cares, through all its initiatives, to strengthen its roles in establishing the national identity, good citizenship and joint cooperation with government authorities and institutions.
He added that the joining of the Foundation of the Federation opens new horizons for volunteer work, which strengthens the culture of volunteering, which is considered one of the most important factors for individuals to develop community solidarity.
