A woman and her six-year-old grandson were burnt to death as a fire broke out at their residence in Sujanagar upazila of Pabna Wednesday night. Hamida Khatun, 60, wife of Jindar Ali of Kadoa Dakhhinpara village in the upazila, and her grandchild Ashim Uddin died on the spot, reports our Pabna correspondent, quoting local police. The fire originated at Jindar’s house from a stove around 9:00 pm, said Md Samsul Haque, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Sujanagar Police Station. Locals rushed to the spot immediately after the fire broke out at the house and put out the blaze. Jindar also sustained injuries in the fire, which gutted three rooms of the house, the OC said.
