The Arab delegations participating in the 4th Congress of the Arab Women Organization (AWO) praised Monday in Algiers Algeria achievements in terms of the promotion of women’s political, socio-economic rights, calling for following this example. Algeria which is celebrating the 50th anniversary of independence increased, through to the system of quotas, women representation to 31% during the last legislative elections. She also whished that the congress recommendations focuses on the preservation of women rights and achievements, particularly \"in the wake of the political upheavals shacking the ‘Arab Spring’ countries.\" The representative of the Kuwaiti delegation Sheikha Latifa Al Fahd Essabah called AWO to set up a commission of women’s rights to undertake on the ground activities involving institutions of civil society. For the representative of the Mauritanian delegation, Arab women must occupy the place that suits them in the society especially in the business world recalling that her country was a pioneer in this field.
