
Industry and Commerce Minister Zayed R. Al-Zayani has received here the Bahrain Business and Professional Women's International Federation (BPW) President and some members.
They briefed the minister on the arrangements to host the "Women and Entrepreneurs Forum", to be held in Bahrain on March 22-26, 2015, under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and the President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW).
The minister stressed the important role played by Bahraini businesswomen and their active contributions to the national economy.
The Minister affirmed the government’s support for all efforts and initiatives carried out by the private sector and relevant institutions aiming to achieve the economic vision that seeks to enhance business environment and attract projects to Bahrain.
He stated that role of businesswomen have become crucial in the economic reality of the Kingdom, citing their significant contributions, especially regarding small and medium-sized enterprises, and therefore, he said, the government is keen to enhance their contributions and support them.
The minister praised the programmes carried out by BPW and its positive steps to enhance the status of women and their role in the economic sector.
