In events news, UK anti-domestic violence group, The Sunshine Project, will hold a workshop focusing on violence in Muslim communities. The workshop, which takes place on 8 July, will include a variety of activities aimed at addressing common misunderstandings of domestic violence, including Islam and abuse, and violence against men. According to the group, a report of domestic violence is made to the police every minute in the UK. Mazna Hussain, who has legally represented Muslim survivors of domestic violence, honour-based violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, human trafficking, rape, and torture, founded the organization. The group is focused on ending domestic violence in greater London, working specifically to empower Muslim communities to end violence.
