Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi (L)
Dubai - WAM

Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development (MICAD), Head of the UAE Committee for Coordination of Foreign Humanitarian Aid, said the finest values of human being are vividly seen in self-denial and sacrifice to help those deprived from their right to education, which is a guarantor for the development and advancement of nations.

While receiving activist and Co-winner of Nobel Prize for Peace, Malala Yousafzai, in the presence of Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State, Chairperson of Dubai Cares, Sheikha Lubna said President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, did not spare any effort to support the education worldwide, especially the woman education in the developing countries.

She welcomed the activist Malala Yousafzai in her second country, the UAE, commending her steadfastness in the defence of the girls' education and positive impact created by her contributions.

For her part, Malala thanked the UAE for its continuous support to her cause so as to empower the women through the education in the developing communities. She also thanked the UAE leadership for the immediate support in the wake of attack on her life in 2012 while defending her cause. She paid a tribute to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed for his support.

Malala also expressed her admiration about the efforts of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.
