
The "international women day .. towards empowerment" summit, to be held here for the first time Next Sunday, aims at "making Kuwait City a Capital for women," said the head of the summit "scientific committee" on Wednesday.
Wafaa Baqer told KUNA the summit would focus on women "as men's partners in success," adding Kuwait would seek to persuade other states host the summit each year.
She added the summit will come out with recommendations, to be adopted by Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Minister of State for Planning and Development Hind Al-Sabeeh to include them in the State development plan.
For her part, the information committee chairperson, Maali Al Youssefi, said participants will represent Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Morocco, Sudan, the Unite States, Singapore and France as well as African States.
It added that the summit aims at attracting all segments of society, including housewives.
Meanwhile, the head of the media committee, Mazna Al Shemmari added that 300 participants will take part in the deliberations from Kuwait, representing all professions in the public and private sectors.
