The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC)
Dammam - Arab Today

The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) aims to reduce the unemployment rate to 7 percent and raise the proportion of female labor force participation to 30 percent as part of its attempt to realize Vision 2030.
Fahd Al-Otaibi, spokesman for the TVTC, said: "An agreement was signed to recruit 10 Saudi female graduates of home maintenance and electricity technology programs held at the Princess Nora bint Abdulrahman University, after obtaining 240 training hours," confirming that the administrative and recruitment procedures are continuing to employ the rest of graduates of the training program.
The program, entitled 'Towards New Heights', is implemented by TVTC, and so far the number of graduates reached 33 female trainees, the spokesman said.
He explained that the three-month training program was held in cooperation with female trainers specialized in electrical engineering and structural engineering disciplines.
The training program was designed to focus on the practical side and the skills related to security and safety rules in finding out the frequent power failure problems and ways to fix them, along with developing skills to identify the type of electrical fault and the preparation of technical reports, he said.
TVTC has also launched 16 various other initiatives aimed at realizing the Kingdom's Vision 2030, in order to build a booming economy, a dynamic society and an ambitious nation.
Ahmed bin Fahd Al-Fuhaid, governor of TVTC, said: "These initiatives aim to develop strategic partnerships with the private sector in the field of technical training, expand the training programs to attract high school graduates, promote the TVTC training programs and increase the number of trainees to 950,000 young men and women, which will support the goals of Vision 2030 to expand technical and vocational training to push economic development."
