A report on Swedes and the internet has shown that 40% of Swedish children aged two were using the Internet in 2012. Children are now using the internet at a very early age. In the year 2012, half of the children aged 3 and 40% of those aged two used it, the report pointed out. Children often use it for games and video, researcher Jean Elfield said. When the internet came into homes 17 years ago, it did not incite the attention of young people and children, but it reached children in nurseries after ten years, the report stated. Today, the majority of internet users are young people. There are no studies on young children’s internet usage because internet penetration is widespread in Sweden and children are born in an environment connected to the Internet, Jean posited. It is noteworthy that 89% of the Swedish population uses the internet.
