Shenzhou-10\'s live lecture from space scheduled

Astronauts on board the Shenzhou-10 spacecraft will teach students through a live video feed system while in orbit at about 10 a.m. on Thursday, announced a spokesperson for China\'s manned space program on Wednesday. In China\'s first initiative of its kind, astronauts will give a lesson to secondary and elementary school students while in orbit and it will be broadcast live by China Central Television. They will conduct basic physics experiments in orbiting space lab module Tiangong-1 to display various physical phenomena, including object movement and the surface tension of liquid in a zero-gravity environment, according to the unidentified spokesperson. In Beijing, a special classroom will be set up at the High School Affiliated to Renmin University. About 330 primary and secondary school students, including some from ethnic minorities, migrant worker families, or the regions of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, have been invited to the venue to interact with the astronauts via video call, said the Ministry of Education. About 60 million teachers and students from 80,000 schools nationwide will watch the live lecture, according to the ministry. The Shenzhou-10 manned spacecraft was launched on June 11, taking three astronauts, two male and one female, into the space. The three are all in good and stable condition.
