Abu Dhabi - Arabstoday
Abu Dhabi will launch its own consumer electronics show — dubbed the Abu Dhabi Electronics Shopper or ADES2013 — this Thursday at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec). The show will run from March 14-18 with the participation of leading electronics retailers and suppliers, IT professionals amongst others. The organisers said that the event will help transform Abu Dhabi into the largest gathering of the region’s leading ICT retailers and suppliers. “Abu Dhabi is a very good choice for an annual consumer computer and electronics show as the demand for consumer technology is high,” said the organisers. Retail industry is deemed one of the fastest growing markets in Abu Dhabi, which has benefited from the country’s stability and its international outlook, they said. The show which is held in coordination with Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce is expected to attract more than 75,000 visitors from all consumer segments as it gathers the biggest names in electronics retail sector with the launch of the latest consumer technology and gadgets. Antoine Georges, Dome Exhibitions Managing Director, said that the aim of this expo is to add value to the Abu Dhabi technology market and drive reinvention through hosting the ADE Shopper 2013. “We are confident that ADE Shopper 2013 will serve as a key catalyst for reinforcing investment and promoting innovation to drive the growth of the ICT sector,” said Georges. Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri , Adnec’s COO, said: “Hosting an event like ADES 2013 for the first time at Adnec falls in line with our vision to attract a variety of new exhibitions and events which will be added to Adnec’s annual agenda. With wide participation from significant names in the retail, communications and information technology industry, ADES 2013 is sure to attract thousands of visitors and consumers. “ADES will help promote innovation in the ICT sector and distinguish Abu Dhabi as a leading technology destination,” said Al Dhaheri. Neelesh Bhatnagar, CEO of Emax, said that ADES will be a leading electronic show in the region. “The Abu Dhabi Electronic Shopper 2013 is set to become one of the leading consumer electronics shows in the region We are anticipating a great turnout and are excited to engage with our Abu Dhabi customers at this flagship event,” added Bhantnagar. Dony Cyril, Exhibitions Director, said that that ADES is the only exhibition in Abu Dhabi that provides the tech-savvy community with access to the latest innovations in the market. “In our role as a leading exhibition organiser, we believe it is our duty to deliver shows that cater to the dynamic needs of the community,” said Cyril. The exhibition includes significant retailer names in the industry such as Sharaf DG, Emax Electronics, Plug Ins, Compu Me, Costless Electronics, Grand Stores, V.V. and Sons LLC and Hi Fi City that will provide special deals on brands such as Hewlett Packard, Blackberry, Apple, Samsung, Sharp, Canon, Nokia, SanDisk and HCL.
