Aesop\'s classic fables are coming to smartphones and tablets thanks to a free Aesop for Children app from the Library of Congress, officials said. The app is adapted from \"The Aesop for Children: with Pictures by Milo Winter,\" published by Rand, McNally & Co in 1919, considered to be in the public domain in the United States, the Library of Congress\'s read.gov Web site said. In addition to the app version, the book can be read directly on the read.gov site. The app includes more than 140 of the classic fables, each accompanied by one or more illustrations and/or animations. The app is available for iOS for the iPad and iPhone and also for Android, although not through Google Play; the Android version can be downloaded at http://read.gov/aesop/download.html. \"Aesop\'s Fables\" are a collection of stories designed to teach moral lessons credited to Aesop, a Greek slave and story-teller thought to have lived between 620 and 560 B.C.
