The information and communication technology exhibition, COMEX 2013, will kick-off this Monday at Oman International Exhibition Centre under the patronage of Sheikh Khalid bin Omar bin Said al-Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service. The five-day exhibition, which is themed \"e-Transformation,\" will be organized by Oman International Trade and Exhibition (OITE) in cooperation with the Information Technology Authority (ITA). Ahmed bin Saleh Ba\'abood, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of OITE said that COMEX 2013 is an important opportunity for governmental institutions to showcase their services and encourage the public to adopt e-transformation as a substitute for the conventional ways of obtaining such services as more than (30) governmental institutions participate in the event along with a number of pioneering companies from outside the Sultanate in this vital sector to display their products and to publicize their latest products. He added, in a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), that COMEX 2013 is an ideal platform that brings together many suppliers and distributors for the latest products in this field, saying that the exhibition will also bring under one roof a selection of traders and experts in IT and communications as the exhibition will showcase the innovative products, solutions in IT and communications, in addition to providing opportunities for enhancing business and investments. He added that COMEX 2013 is divided into three divisions. The first division is for governmental e-services. The second division is for businessmen and the third division is for the public.
