The European Commission is pressuring Google to include mobile services in any anti-trust agreements, sources told the Financial Times. Google\'s Android operating system for mobile phones is expected to be the majority handset platform in the foreseeable future. It already operates half the smartphones in Europe, The Guardian reported Saturday. Google\'s Internet search engine, meanwhile, has considerably more market control, with 90 percent of Internet searches in Europe conducted on Google -- a larger market share than the 65 percent share it enjoys in the United States. The European Commission has not opened a formal investigation into Google\'s search engine, but there are complaints that it is customized to favor Google products. An investigation could be launched if a prior agreement is not reached, the newspaper reported.
