Iranian researchers from Noshirvani Babol University of Technology could specify the applications of nanotechnology in neurosciences by carrying out a field study. In this research, a field study was firstly carried out on the applications of nanotechnology, specifically in the field of drugs. The study was based on more than ten years of research carried out by the researchers from Nanobiotechnology Group of Nanotechnology Research Center of the university. According to the researchers of the plan, nanotechnology has applications in most of the researches on neurosciences in the field of production of medicine for brain and nerves, and also in the field of drug delivery to specific parts of the brain. In other words, the application of nanotechnology becomes visible in medical sciences and industry, and in biotechnology. Since, according to the latest theories, memory is data storage in synopses, and the understanding of synopses is the real need of neuroscience at the moment, the researchers introduced the abilities of nanotechnology in this field, and they opened the new path to neuroscientists in order to cooperate with nanotechnologists. In other words, synopses send brain messages and save data through very tiny materials called neuro-carriers. Results of the research have been published in December 2012 in Current Neuropharmacology, vol. 10, issue 4, pp. 370-392.
