
Kuwait Scientific Center launched its third science and engineering competition for 2014-2015, in cooperation with Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) and the Ministry of Education, The competition which ends next May, is meant for students from 9th to 12th grade, aiming to discover their talents and creativity in science, to find solutions through scientific research, said the center in a statement on Sunday.
The competition provides youth with an opportunity to spend their free time with useful activity, the center said, adding that it also aims at brining awareness towards the importance of science among this group of society.
The students are required to conduct a scientific research which includes a problem and its solution through science, while also carrying out experiments regarding the issue and provide a proof for the results, the statement explained.
The competition covers different scientific fields including computer science, electrical and mechanical engineering, biological engineering, materials engineering, energy and transportation, it also said.
This scientific event is for Kuwaiti students only, since the winners will represent the country in international competitions and events such as Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in the USA, and Intel Arab fair, the statement noted.
