
Russian aircraft building company MiG, which is incorporated in the United Aircraft Corporation, concluded two additional agreements with the Indian company Basant Aerospace Pvt. Ltd. at a total cost of $55 million under the general offset contract with the Indian Air Force at the aerospace show MAKS-2013. The first contract ($43 million) entails creation of a maintenance center in India. It will be used for maintenance and repairs of onboard radar stations Zhuk-ME produced by the open joint stock company Fazatron-NIIR. The second contract ($12 million) envisions setup of a maintenance center for repairs and maintenance of modernized fighters MiG-29UPG in India. The maintenance centers will make the restoration of onboard radar stations and onboard systems of the fighters MiG-29UPG and MiG-29K/KUB and will give consultations to the technical staff of the Indian Air Force. The next stage will be creation of a consignment stock of spare parts for fighters MiG in India, a MiG official said.
