Iranian researchers used nanotechnology
Tehran - FNA

Iranian researchers used nanotechnology to produce a new type of electrical insulator with high dielectric constant, which has applications in electronics, optoelectronics and electrochemical industries.
This material can also be used in the production of nano-transistor pieces and computer and cell phone memories.
Nowadays, the size of electrochemical, electronic and optoelectronic chips is becoming smaller every day as the industry develops. Therefore, it is very important to find appropriate organic or inorganic hybrid nanomaterials as the main part of the chips and pieces. These materials should have appropriate dielectric properties and be able to create strong bonds. In this research, efforts have been made to produce hybrid materials by using nanotechnology to prevent the leak of current in electronic pieces.
In this research, the researchers succeeded in decreasing the amount of current leaking in electronic pieces by synthesizing an organic and inorganic hybrid nanoparticle.
Among the main advantages of the production and application of the proposed dielectric insulator, mention can be made of reduction in the reaction cost due to the use of the easy sol-gel method, reduction in the price of sample by using cheap raw materials, reduction in energy loss and increase in the processing rate of electrical pieces.
Lanthanum oxide nanoparticles have been used in the production of the hybrid materials due to their high dielectric constant while anthracene was used due to its very cheap price and good availability.
Results of the research have been published in Bulgarian Chemical Communications, vol. 46, issue 4, 2014, pp. 687-690.
