Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi's business and lifestyle destination, has launched of its Ramadan toys and clothing drive, as part of its year-long 'Al Maryah Island Gives Back' campaign.
In line with the UAE’s Year of Giving, the Ramadan drive will take place throughout the holy month. Visitors can participate by giving children under the age of 12 new toys and clothes at the Ramadan lantern gifting station at The Great Room in The Galleria.
Once the gifts are collected, they will be wrapped and distributed by volunteers to various organisations in the UAE. The 'Al Maryah Island Gives Back' initiative have been conceived in line with the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's vision for the Year of Giving.
Ali Eid Al Muhairi, Executive Director of Mubadala Real Estate and Infrastructure, said, "We are proud to announce the details of our year-long Al Maryah Island ‘Gives Back’ campaign, which will inspire a culture of giving across the whole island, amongst our partners, tenants, residents, and visitors. The Year of Giving focusses on three main pillars corporate social responsibility, volunteering, and serving the nation.
"The UAE has a proud history of philanthropy and it is our honour to launch our first initiative during the month of Ramadan to encourage and celebrate the country’s virtues of giving," he added.
Kevin Ryan, Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director of Gulf Related, said, "We are very pleased to collaborate with our Al Maryah Island partners on this philanthropic initiative, which reflects the close-knit community of businesses and individuals for whom the island is home. Ramadan is a special time of year, and the UAE’s commitment to strategic giving represents the power of corporations coming together with the community in a spirit of generosity."
Commenting on the company’s support, Adel Ahmed Al Buainain, Chief Executive Officer of Dolphin Energy Limited, said, "We are proud to play our part as the sponsor and collaborate with other tenants to help maximise the impact this campaign will have on those less fortunate. Dolphin Energy has a strong track record in CSR and this campaign allows us to deepen our commitment to the Year of Giving by reaching out to those in need at this very important time of the year."
Saeed Al Dhaheri, Acting Chief Operating Officer of the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC, TAQA, said, "We are proud to support this important initiative as part of the UAE’s Year of Giving. TAQA employees all over the world are encouraged to get involved in community events in line with our core values, so it is an honour to support this programme that will impact those in need from our headquarters on Al Maryah Island."
