Abu Dhabi - Emirates Voice

No, there's no typing error in the headline. You can actually get a brand new Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus for as low as Dh 1,249 in the UAE.

Samsung Gulf Electronics has announced that customers in the UAE can get their hands on the new Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus by trading in their old devices for one of Samsung's latest smartphones. For a limited time only -- April 28 to July 28, 2017 -- customers can trade in select models at Samsung offline and online partners and receive the best price based on the condition of their old phone.

"We believe that all our customers should have the chance to own the latest Galaxy S8 / S8 Plus and be part of the future of smartphones technology," said Tarek Sabbagh, Head of IT and Mobile division at Samsung Gulf Electronics. "By introducing the trade-in programme, we are ensuring that they can benefit from incredible, first to market technologies through a convenient, simple and added-value process."
Does your phone qualify?

To be eligible for the Samsung Trade-in, selected smartphones will need to qualify. The devices will have to be in a working condition and trade-in pricing are based on these conditions. For more details, please visit http://www.samsung.com/ae/trade-in/

How much you can trade your old phone for will depend on the condition of your smartphone.

"If your phone is in mint condition, it's a Grade A. If it's a bit scuffed up, it's Grade B," Samsung said on its website.

Grade A

1. Power on device
2. Minimal scratches on body and screen (up to 15 scratches). No dents, chips, scuffs or cracks on body or screen
3. Screen free from marks and spots
4. Touch screen and button working
5. Touch ID working
6. Battery charging and not bulged
7. Network connection and WiFi working
8. Original device (IMEI verify)
9. Device free from iCloud Activation Lock, BlackBerry anti-theft or any other lock
