
Samsung launched Friday itslatest gadgets - thesmart phone Galaxy S5 and three smart watches - the company announcedon its website, according to dpa."The refined design and technological innovation of our new Galaxy S5and Samsung Gear devices are the direct result of Samsung listeningcarefully to what consumers wanted in the next generation of mobiletechnology, " said JK Shin, chief executive of Samsung.Among the new features of the Samsung Galaxy S5 are its water anddust resistance, the statement said.The Samsung Gear 2, Samsung Gear 2 Neo, and Samsung Gear Fit are thesmart watches in the array of new devices. They let users answercalls from the wrist but also come with integrated fitnessapplications, the statement said.All three smart watches are dust and water resistant and have a heartmonitor among other functions, according to Samsung. The new devices are hitting shelves in 125 countries including theUS, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and most Asian marketaccording to the statement.The release of the new devices comes while Samsung is in the middle of a patent trial with competitor Apple, which claims that Samsungcopied features from the iPhone in five patents and included them inSamsung phones as part of Google's Android operating system.
