
Afghanistan ministry of commerce and trade of Afghanistan announced to purchase 22000 tons of fuel from Russia in a bid to reduce fuel prices. Deputy trade and commerce minister, Mozamil Shinwari told reporters that a delegation of the Afghan officials will visit Russia in the near future to finalize the deal, according to Khaama Press Shinwari further added that sanctions against Iran has affected the fuel prices and supply in Afghanistan, and the government of Afghanistan has decided to purchase fuel from Russia to meet the demands of the Afghan people. He said the agreement which will be inked between Russian and Afghan officials will pave the way for the purchase of fuel by both Afghan government and private companies, who will import diesel and petrol fuel from Russia. The Afghanistan chamber of commerce and industries welcomed the decision by Afghan government and urged that the fuel should be purchased only by the government of Afghanistan in a bid to have control over fuel prices in the market.
