Gas leak in Al-Ahmadi refinery under control

A gas leak described as "limited" which occurred at Al-Ahmadi Refinery early Wednesday caused no casualties or halt of import and export operations, said the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC). The leak occurred in the liquefied gas unit at the refinery, a KNPC subsidiary. It took about 20 minutes to contain and was completely controlled by 9:15 a.m., KNPC spokesman Mansour Al-Ajmi told KUNA. He added that the company is committed towards ensuring health safety measures used in emergency situations according to international standards.
