
Iran announced that the country has exported over $17.9bln of non-oil products to different countries in the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 21). In the first half of this year, $17.972 billion worth goods were exported, while $19.935 billion worth goods were imported, a report said. Iranian foreign trade registered $37.90 billion in the first six months of this year. The non-oil exports, including gas liquids, fell by 13.59 percent and the imports down by 25.4 percent in value compared to the figures in the corresponding period last year. Furthermore, in the first six months of the year, 41.659 million tons of goods were exported up by 9.41 percent and 13.241 million tons of goods were imported down by 31.26 percent compared to that of last year. In August, the Iranian Customs Administration announced that the value of Iran’s non-oil exports has exceeded $12.5bln during the first 4 months of the current Iranian year despite the sanctions and restrictions imposed against the country by the West. Iran exported $12.536bln worth of non-oil goods in the said period, showing an 11.5 percent increase as compared with last year’s corresponding period, the data said. The customs data showed earlier this month that Iran’s non-oil exports exceeded $9.7bln in the first quarter of the current Iranian year irrespective of the US-led western sanctions imposed against the country. Iran exported 21.699 tons of different goods, including gas condensates, worth $9.751bln from March 21 to June 21, the Iranian Customs Administration reported. Non-oil commodities accounted for $5.112bln of the total $9.751bln worth of goods exported in the first three months, while the export value of gas condensates and petrochemicals stood at $2.096bln and $2.542bln, respectively.
