Iranian oil minister said that the government will announce its viewpoint on gasoline prices in the next few days. The Parliament’s news website quoted Zanganeh as saying “we are studying gasoline prices and will make a final decision after consultation with parliament\". Replying a question on determining factors for setting gasoline prices, Zanganeh said: even though we cannot ignore [the role of low prices] on fuel smuggling but the main reason behind considering revision is budget law that has tasked the government with paying subsidies. He added in order to fulfill its commitments, the government has no choice but to start negotiations with the parliament to find a solution on the issue. On development of oil and gas fields, the minister said South Pars gas field was the most important shared field followed by Azadegan and West Karoun hydrocarbon fields, the fields that budget has allocated adequate fund for their development.
