
The Minister of Oil Engineer Makkawi Mohamed Awad has praised the efforts being exerted by the Norwegian Kingdom in increasing oil extraction rate to augment production in Heglig field.
The minister extended gratitude, when he met at his office Wednesday with the Norwegian experts in the presence of the Norwegian Consular in Khartoum John Anton, to the Norwegian Kingdom which is sponsoring the project, explaining that the project comes within the framework of the Sudanese-Norwegian Protocol signed between the countries in March, 2013.
The technical team presented a study on the project of improved and consolidated extraction, which is a part of the resource management, forwarding a number of technical ways including the injection and horizontal digging.
SUNA is to recall that a number of Sudanese experts participated in study with the Norwegian team. Couple of Sudanese cadres were trained in Norway and Sudan on how to deal with the project.
