Turkey\'s Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz has said Turkey would continue holding its oil exploration efforts abroad too. Minister Yildiz delivered a speech at the 12th Turkey International Oil and Gas Conference at the Sheraton Hotel in Turkish capital Ankara on Wednesday. Yildiz stated that natural gas, coal and petrol were the main energy sources and underscored that even though there were talks about less pollution in the world, renewable energy sources were still dominant and relevant works were not satisfactory. Yildiz reminded that they held works on energy transfer to EU countries and said, \"We hold projects to supply EU\'s need of natural gas even though the energy chapter heading has still not been opened to membership negotiations because of political reasons. Our projects is the correct job. Who ever does it right, then they gain strength. If you do wrong, then you lose power.\" Yildiz said, if there was an appropriate offer of an international company to Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), they would assess it and stated, \"the oil is ours as long as it is extracted. We allocated about 13.5 times more budget for exploration in Black Sea and Mediterranean compared to past decade.\" He said, petrol had been found in Turkey but it would not be enough to meet the total needs of the country. Yildiz highlighted that they would continue with their petrol exploration in Colombia which was 8,000 kilometres away from Turkey and also in countries 200 kilometres away from Turkey.
