Taking place on Friday, March 4th, at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Rashed Al Nuaimi, Emirati singer and filmmaker, and choreographer Hamdan Mubarak will come together for a series of musical performances as part of ArtWEC: The Performers, 2016.
In collaboration with Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, the Jordanian Association and the UAE Jiu Jitsu Federation are organising some of their initiatives during Artscape. Workshops for children and families inspired by the artists of Emirati Expressions IV: Conventions of Arts will be taking place throughout the duration of the day.
Maisa Al Qasimi, Programmes Manager, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, and one of Emirati Expressions IV: Conventions of Arts' co-curators, said, "Artscape allows for the public to get together and celebrate art in all its forms. For this edition of Emirati Expressions, we are engaging with a number of Abu Dhabi's social clubs and involving them within the core of the curatorial theme of the exhibition, to reflect the diversity of the communities, which have been in the capital for decades. We look forward to welcoming art enthusiasts to Artscape."
The fourth edition of Emirati Expressions IV: Conventions of Arts opened on November 12th, 2015 and will run until March 31st, 2016. The exhibition displays works by 15 Emirati artists at Manarat Al Saadiyat and throughout the city of Abu Dhabi. The diversity of works include wearable art, photography, furniture design, interactive video installations, paintings, illustrations, and large-scale sculptures.
Alongside the main exhibition at Manarat Al Saadiyat, artists have been invited to produce site-specific works for Abu Dhabi's diverse and historic social clubs. The works of various artists can be found in the India Social and Cultural Centre, Writers Union, and the Armed Forces Officers Club.
