In case you visit Thessaloniki in the next few weeks, don’t miss out on the exhibition \"The Jews of Thessaloniki. Indelible marks in space\" held in the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki until September 30, 2012. The exhibition attempts to reconstruct the ‘palimpsest’ of the largest Jewish community in Greece, through the tangible or latent ‘indelible marks’ of the age-old Jewish presence in the city. The Jewish community’s history is presented through four thematic units, as an ‘archaeological’ quest, from the Hellenistic era when its first traces appear until its tragic annihilation during World War II. This is a very exciting journey in space and time through the story of Thessaloniki’s Jews, revealing yet another story of the city. This is a route through the city with stops at relevant landmarks that depict the religious, social, financial and cultural character of the Jewish community. From visitgreece
