A book fair in Beijing is highlighting patriotism, innovation, inclusion and social morals. And according to a new poll, this group of words is what residents there feel best sums up the bustling metropolis. Our reporter Ji Yi attended the fair to find out about this so-called \'Beijing Spirit.\' Speeches, photo exhibitions and books. All these are opening up the essence of the capital. A fair goer said, \"I think the Beijing Spirit represents the cultural background of the city, and is the basic quality of Beijing residents.\" \"On one hand, promoting the Beijing Spirit in the book fair will help more and more people understand it; on the other, the special counter serves as a platform for us to study the spirit.\" said a fair goer. Exhibitors have specially selected many books that are easy to read, and they are also offering discounts. A top seller at the fair is about the capital\'s places of interest, called \'This is Beijing.\' \"We are offering a variety of books about Beijing, which have been selling well since the beginning of the book fair. Many of them have already sold out.\" said a fair goer. Over 500 publishing houses from all over the country have their wares on display - that\'s over 200,000 books. The winter book fair, now in its eighth year, is taking place from the 25th of November to the 5th of December.
