Egypt's envoy lauds China's efforts in spreading Arabic language

Egypt's Ambassador in Beijing Maged Amer has praised the efforts exerted by Chinese university professors in spreading the Arabic language over a century.
This came during a ceremony held by China's CCTV International in cooperation with the Egyptian media and cultural offices in China to honor the winners of the 1st competition for talented Chinese students studying the Arabic language.
Bahraini Ambassador to China Dr Anwar Abdallah and a galaxy of diplomats, university professors and university students attended the ceremony.
The Bahraini diplomat welcomed the competition and described it as an opportunity to bolster cooperation between China and the Arab world in all fields as well as achieving a cultural rapprochement.
In the meantime, the Algerian ambassador here said the competition is part of celebrations marking 2014 as a year of friendship between China and the Arab world and coinciding with the 10th anniversary of establishing the Sino-Arab Cooperation Forum.
