The Council of Tourism Development in Jazan will organize a carnival as part of the province’s winter festival under the motto “Fragrant Jazan, Winter Resort for All” starting on Jan. 19 in the heritage village on the southern beach in Jazan.To make the event different from carnivals in the past years, it will include religious speeches and cultural events.Every year a country will be invited to participate in the event and display its national crafts, a council statement read. There will also be stalls for the promotion of real estate business and investment in the province, it announced. High officials will be invited to attend the event. More than 60 public and private sector departments will participate in the festival in addition to 550 participants including women.The carnival will also give opportunity to youths with special skills to display their creative abilities and novel products, according to the statement. During previous carnivals in the city, children and youths used to participate in large numbers.The event will have stalls displaying paintings and plaques that highlight the heritage and arts of the region. Traditional dresses, handicrafts and tools of farming, hunting, fishing, and pearl diving will also be showcased. Other attractions include scenes of traditional wedding night celebrations, circus and fireworks.
