Chairman of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Mohammad Bagher Khorramshad and Algerian Minister of Culture Ms Khalida Toumi on Monday called for expansion of cultural relations. The Algerian minister praised Iranian culture, civilization and art, calling for the expansion ties and exchange of cultural delegations. She recalled Iranian hospitality for Algerian cultural delegates last year in Isfahan and said that Algeria does its best for active participation of Iran in international book fair, international forum of cinematographers. She said that Algiers is willing to cooperate with Iran to hold cultural events in future. She described the expansion of cultural cooperation as a means to bring the two nations closer together in the Islamic Millennium. Meanwhile, Khorramshad pointed to the interest of the two states in expansion of the ties and said that the two countries enjoy extensive common grounds in religion, culture and the revolutionary background preparing the best ground for strengthening the existing relations. Appreciating the good Algerian cooperation to host Iran cultural week in Telmestan as cultural capital of the Muslim World in 2011, he expressed Iran’s readiness to hold different cultural weeks between the two countries and their provinces. In the meantime, Khorramshad apponited Razi Alamolhoda as Iranian cultural attaché in Algiers.
