Presidents of Iran and Mongolia attended a joint meeting here in Tehran to discuss expansion of bilateral ties. Iran-Mongolia relations are positive and the two countries have immense historical and cultural fields in commons, said Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a meeting with the Mongolian delegation which attended the 16th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit in the Iranian capital, Tehran. Ahmadinejad underscored the necessity for solidarity among independent states in a bid to have the ability to affect developments in the world. He evaluated Iran-Mongolia relations positive and said that the two countries have many historical, cultural commonalities and now have good ties with each other. Ahmadinejad expressed hope that the two countries can implement important and effective actions with bilateral cooperation. He continued that by exchanging information and historical data, scientists and experts will help both countries for a better future. Mongolian President Tsakhia Elbegdorj, for his part, appreciated Iran for hosting and holding the 16th NAM summit and said that the movement is a powerful group in international arena and that Iran during its presidency can promote position of the group too. Establishment of joint group for historical studies, presence of experts and scholars in historical events, exchanging historical data and information, cooperation in the fields of economic, agriculture, animal husbandry, exchanging experiences in the fields of industry and mince, acceleration in transportation of both countries officials by nullification of visa and expansion of ties in the fields of culture and sports were among issues discussed by the two senior delegations.
