History Museum \"Grigore Antipa\" to reopen

The National Museum of Natural History "Grigore Antipa" in Bucharest announces its reopening for the public on Saturday, September 17, after more than two years of restoration and modernization of the permanent exhibition. The museum was closed in February 2009, in order to undergo a comprehensive modernization project, and the institution is now ready to receive visitors "wearing new clothes, with a modern permanent exhibition, more interactive, and full of surprises and color." In the new formula, the museum will have five halls where documentaries will be screened, also equipped with 66 infotouch devices, 3D projections, plasmas and interactive exhibit presentation systems. In addition to displaying the objects under light or in frames and with the help of appealing systems, a significant change is the presentation concept, which was previously one according to classifications or evolutionary degree, and now is on bio-regions. There will be spaces for inter-activity, multimedia halls and rooms designed as laboratories, where visitors will be able to participate in, or to assist to scientific experiments, demonstrations and laboratory work. There is also with a cafeteria in the building, where visitors could have snacks and soft drinks, as well as a multimedia room, two rooms for activities with children and a souvenir shop.
