A new photo album which encapsulates the mesmerizing landscape and mystical culture on China\'s southwestern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, was unveiled on Wednesday in Bangkok, The album, entitled \"Tibet: Road to Heaven\", includes 100 photos contributed by the renowned and award-winning overseas- Chinese photographer, David Lau, during his journey through Qinghai and Tibet earlier this year. Many of the pictures were taken on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. It is a masterpiece for the understanding and appreciation of the vast, peaceful and exuberant land of China, also known as \"the roof spine of the world\". Chinese ambassador to Thailand Guan Mu wrote the cover title in Chinese calligraphy for the album. Master V.Vajiramedhi, a prominent Thai monk and director of the Vimuttayalaya Institute, contributed a prelude for it and selected 100 Buddhist mottoes to caption each photo. V.Vajiramedhi said in the prelude that the publication of the album, as part of the Vimuttayalaya Institute\'s charitable activities, would benefit not only the citizens of Thailand but all mankind. The first edition of the album, sponsored by the Thai Food Processors\' Association (TFPA) and DOFOOD CO., LTD. Thailand, has been printed 60,000 pieces, according to Lau. \"Proceedings from the sales of the album will go to the establishment of the Vimuttayalaya temple, a project led by Master V.Vajiramedhi,\" he added. The 116-page album is printed with 128g art paper and with exquisite cover design. Priced at 159 baht, it is now available in Naiin, SE-ED, B2S, Chula Book center and other major bookstores in Bangkok.
