The great celebration of short films will take place in Drama from September 17 until September 22, 2012. This lovely city of northern Greece will ‘host’ numerous short films by Greek and foreign film makers. The National Short Film Festival in Drama celebrates its 35-year anniversary. This year’s edition includes 85 Greek short films selected among the 209 submitted to the national competition section. On the other hand, the 18th International Short Film Festival in Drama, includes more than 50 films from all over the world. The jury had a very difficult ask selecting the participating films amongst the over 1.100 submitted! The festival will also host this year’s students’ Greek film production in the 3rd Student Panorama. In the festive programme several cultural events are included: a tribute to the National Film School of Slovakia (VSMU) and Romania (I.L.Caragiale), a presentation of the Film Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, screenings and radio workshops for children, a presentation of student films, exhibitions etc. Don’t miss the screenings of the nominated films for the awards of the European Film Academy as well as the presentation of the juvenile graduation film (The Hand of Paulista, 1998) of the renowned Romanian director Cristian Mungiu, winner of the Cannes Festival Palme d’Or for his film Four months, three weeks and two days.
