AL chief, Iraqi FM meet in Baghdad

Foreign Minister Ibrahim Jaafari met on Wednesday with Arab League (AL) Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit, who is now on visit here; the first of its kind since he assumed office as AL chief.
The meeting is taking up recent political developments in Iraq and the regional situation along with victories of the Iraqi army against Daesh terrorist group in several parts of Iraq.
The meeting is also meant to discuss arrangements for the coming Arab summit that will be held later this month in Amman, Jordan, along with the Syrian crisis and joint Arab action.
Abul Gheit arrived here earlier in the day. He will hold a joint press conference with Jaafari after the talks.
