
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received at his residence here on Sunday Argentine President Mauricio Macri, whose country will host the upcoming G20 Summit in 2018.
Sisi is here to attend the G20 summit at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The Sisi-Macri meeting was attended by the foreign, trade and industry and finance ministers from both sides.
Egypt and Argentina will celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations next year.
Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said Macri expressed hope to promote cooperation with Egypt in the various domains especially agriculture and peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
Macri said Argentina is to endorse soon the free trade agreement between Egypt and the Mercosur trade bloc which will in turn promote economic cooperation between the two countries.
Sisi and Macri also discussed cooperation in fighting terror and extremism and exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern, Youssef added.
