Foreign minister meets OIC Chief

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Dr. Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen, on the sidelines of his participation in the work of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, the Minister praised the tangible contribution made by Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen in promoting the work of the OIC and his continuous efforts to progress its performance in line with the changes and developments taking place in the regional and international arenas, and in meeting the hopes and aspirations of the Islamic peoples in development and peace.

The Minister praised the constructive role played by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in dealing with the great challenges facing the Islamic world, defending the issues of Islam and Muslims, spreading the values of tolerance and moderation and promoting dialogue and understanding among all peoples.

Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen expressed his appreciation of the Kingdom of Bahrain for its keenness to support the work of the Organization, its activities in all fields and its role in contributing to enhancing security and stability and bringing peace to the region, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity. .
