Egyptian assistant FM receives African ambassadors

Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs Sabry Magdy Sabry on Tuesday received the African ambassadors accredited to Egypt.

The Egyptian diplomat briefed the ambassadors on the country's efforts to confront terrorism, especially following last week's assassination of prosecutor general Hesham Barakat and the terror attacks in North Sinai.

The meeting comes within the framework of diplomatic efforts to clarify the Egyptian efforts to confront terrorism, in implementation of directives of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.

Senior Egyptian diplomats held similar meetings with the two Americas', European and Arab ambassadors in Cairo.

The Egyptian foreign ministry officials and ambassadors meet with the officials and ambassadors of the foreign countries to offer a detailed explanation of measures taken by Egypt following Barakat's assassination and operations conducted in North Sinai in response to the attacks in Sheikh Zuwaid.
