New Arab League chief to officially take up post Sunday

New Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit will officially take up his post on Sunday, a well-placed source at the Arab League General Secretariat said.
In statements Monday, the source added that Aboul Gheit will officially start his duties by holding a meeting with senior officials at the AL General Secretariat on Sunday.
Earlier, the AL Council voted unanimously in favor of Aboul Gheit, who will replace Nabil el Araby.
