China president to visit Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran next week

Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Iran from January 19 to January 23, China's foreign ministry said Friday.
Xi's first leg will be Saudi Arabia, where he is expected to meet with the Saudi King.
The tour, Xi's first of the region as president, comes amid mounting tensions over the war in Syria and after protesters ransacked and burned the Saudi Embassy in Tehran.
