Nick Jonas stars in new trailer for MMA drama 'Kingdom'

Nick Jonas appears shirtless in the new trailer for Kingdom.
The 21-year-old singer strips down to portray MMA fighter Nate Kulina, the youngest son and protégé of Alvey Kulina (Frank Grillo). Alvey is a former MMA star whose drug addiction cut his career short, and he also trains his oldest son, Jay (Jonathan Tucker), who struggles with addiction himself. Kiele Sanchez co-stars as Alvey's longtime girlfriend, Lisa Prince.
Bryan Balasco created the series for DirecTV, and will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Kingdom premieres October 8 on DirecTV's Audience Network.
Jonas came to fame with brothers Kevin and Joe as pop group The Jonas Brothers, but the band broke up in October 2013. He released his first solo single, "Chains," on Wednesday, and has also taken up acting. He guest starred as Lyle West in two episodes of Smash, and Ian Wright in two episodes of Hawaii Five-0.
